This is not just a performance — it is a story about those who are fighting for our future, and at the same time an artistic way of expressing gratitude to our defenders.

"Friend"  is a unique volunteer project by director Oleh Oneshchak and composer Maria Verbyana. It is based on the poetry of outstanding Ukrainian authors of the 20th century: Yevhen Malaniuk, Volodymyr Svidzinsky, Maksym Rylsky, Yevhen Pluzhnyk, Pavlo Tychyna, Volodymyr Sosyura, and Mykhailo Semenko.

Each work reveals the inner world of Ukrainians and reflects our unbreakable desire for freedom.

It is a creative dialogue between an actor and a composer, built around poetic texts. The set design by Oleksandra Nahirna creates a special atmosphere. The viewer enters a world where each poem is a personal story that weaves into a common narrative about struggle, love, loss, and hope.
