Shared Stage: Join Us on 4 November at the Theatre Museum🔥

🗓️ 4 November at 5:00 PM (press preview at 3:00 PM) — we invite you to the opening of the exhibition Shared Stage at the exhibition halls of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema Arts of Ukraine in Kyiv.
This exhibition is the culmination of a long-term project developed by the Gallery of Scenography in collaboration with the Museum, in partnership with UNESCO in Ukraine and with the financial support of the European Union in Ukraine.
The exhibition will feature rare photographs from the Museum's collection and dozens of original works by theatre artists from different periods of the twentieth century: from the bold artistic explorations of the avant-garde era, through the subsequent years of censorship and the dominance of Socialist Realism, to the new wave of Ukrainian national revival in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The project focuses on researching and promoting the legacy of Ukrainian scenographers of Jewish origin. Their artistic journeys and creative heritage vividly demonstrate the mutual influence and shared development of Ukrainian and Jewish cultures as part of a single, dynamic cultural process.
Marko Epstein, Nison Shifrin, Matvii Drak, Mykhailo Frenkel, Mykhailo Hleyzer and Viktor Hukailo — these are the artists whose work we invite you to discover. The exhibition will also feature works by prominent Ukrainian scenographers from their artistic circles, including Vadym Meller and Danylo Lider.
One of the exhibition's central pieces will be a puppet vertep (traditional Ukrainian nativity puppet theatre), created by artist Iryna Uvarova for Charles Feuerberg's project in the 1990s.
At the opening, you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the curators, Serhii and Tetiana Rudenko, and the project team. You will also have a chance to win beautiful postcards featuring artworks presented in the exhibition 😉
📍 We look forward to welcoming you at the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine, 9 Lavrska Street, Kyiv.
