The Lviv Quadrіennalе of Scenography is an international festival of scenography founded by the Scenography Gallery in 2018. The festival takes place every four years.
The Quadrіennalе combines exhibition, educational and performative programs that bring together scenographers, performers, costume designers, art historians and theater critics and a wide audience from all over Ukraine and abroad for 3 days.
The main goal of the Quadrennial is to popularize and develop the art of scenography in Ukraine and to establish professional international communication.
The first experimental step was the Lviv Quadrіennalе of Scenography. Preview in 2018. Four years later, the “Lviv Quadrіennalе of Scenography - 2021. Evolution through Revolution” took place.
Oleh Oneshchak, one of the organizers of the Quadrіennalе and founder of the Lviv Scenography Gallery, believes that the work of a scenographer should be made visible, because people usually talk (and write) about directors and actors, while artists usually go unnoticed.
“We don't want to make the set designer the main one, we rather want to emphasize his importance, to bring him out from behind the scenes. We focus on scenography and scenographers, and it's great,” says Oleg Oneshchak.
