Dance in the Museum - On 30 October, the Theatre Museum will host two performances as part of the exhibition "Ukrainian Theatre Costume of the XX-XXI Centuries. Identity, Context, Landscape"


"Movement painting: dance and costume"

A performance journey through time that shows images of Ukrainian theatre costumes of the 20th and 21st centuries. The dancers will try to embody elements of costumes from different times, demonstrating the diversity and continuity of Ukrainian cultural heritage.

The performative series of events "Dance in the Museum" aims to offer an expressive experience that allows us to understand dance in a way that is much broader than dance elements, expanding the understanding of dance and bringing its meaning and mission to a whole new level.

Performers: 1st year master's students majoring in 024 Choreography at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University: Anastasia Vyshynska, Maksym Gordienko, Iryna Humeniuk, Sofia Guseva, Sofia Glushchenko, Maria Ilchenko, Oleksandra Leshchenko, Borys Novitskyi, Dmytro Savanchuk.

Under the direction of Lyudmyla Androshchuk, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Choreography at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.


Musical accompaniment - works by Jan Shlyabansky for the performance "Bronislava Nizhynska. Dance Reconstruction".

The performative series of events "Dance in the Museum" aims to offer an expressive experience that allows us to form an idea of dance that is much broader than dance elements, expanding the understanding of dance and bringing its meaning and mission to a completely different level.

Performers: 1st year master's students majoring in 024 Choreography and Sports at the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine Anna Kochubey, Daryna Koverziuk and Kateryna Chernenko.

Under the direction of the curator of the Dance in the Museum project, Viktor Ruban, PhD in Cultural Studies, director, choreographer, representative of the Impulse Transformation Platform, lecturer at the Department of Choreography and Dance Sports of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

Admission is at the price of a museum ticket (available at the museum's ticket office):


- Adults - 100 UAH


- For schoolchildren - 30 UAH


- For students and pensioners - 50 UAH


- For Kyiv residents - 50 UAH

The curator of the project "Dance in the Museum" is Viktor Ruban, Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural Studies, director, choreographer, representative of the CO ICF "Impulse Transformation Platform", lecturer at the Department of Choreography and Dance Sports of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

The Dance in the Museum project is implemented with the support and cooperation of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine, the CO ICF "Impulse Transformation Platform", Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University and the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

The project "Ukrainian theatre costume of the XX-XXI centuries. Identity, Context, Landscape" is implemented by the NGO "Scenography Gallery" in partnership with the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine, the Territorial Marketing Fund "PLACE ID" (Poland) and with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
