🤝Our partnership with the Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema is particularly valuable to us, as it supports and inspires us in a difficult time for Ukraine.
The exhibition "Theatre stage characters: Ukraine - Lithuania" is a part of the joint project of the Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema and the Scenography Gallery within the framework ofthe Lviv Quadrennial of Scenography " Theatre Costume of the 21st Century. Dialogue of identities: Ukraine - Lithuania." Working with Lithuanian colleagues has become not only a professional dialogue for us, but also a source of inspiration for new ideas and projects.
💬Tetіana Rudenko, researcher of scenography, chief curator of the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine, talks about the peculiarities of international cooperation:
«Museum workers know the right way to do things, but they often work in the best they can. That is why international professional communication is extremely important: it allows you to share experiences, learn about the latest methods of preserving exhibits, and visit both open and closed storage facilities with unique collections.
The Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema has recently opened a new building specially equipped for storing valuable materials. From now on, not only specialists, but also researchers and visitors have access to modern storage facilities. A separate workspace is provided for researchers.
We had meaningful conversations with our colleagues about the peculiarities of forming theatre and film collections, as well as the challenges of preserving exhibits in wartime. The support of the Lithuanian side is felt at every step: Ukrainian flags adorn cultural institutions, museums print tickets with slogans of support for Ukraine, and post statistics on cultural losses on their websites, making this data visible to the whole world."
