Natalia Rydvanetska

theatre and stage costume designer, graphic artist


Born in 1969 in Boryslav, Lviv region. The artist's main stage is the Taras Shevchenko Cherkasy Music and Drama Theatre.

 

She collaborates with her husband, scenic designer Serhii Rydvanetskyi, in almost all productions. Their performances are extremely successful on the stages of Kyiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv. The duo of artists is almost self-sufficient: he creates scenography, she creates costumes for the performance. Her works are characterised by exquisite imagery of silhouettes and rhythmic colours in the stage space.

Biography

Education:

From 1987 to 1992, she studied at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (now the Lviv National Academy of Arts), Department of Fashion Modelling.

From 1998 to 2003 she was a costume designer at the Lviv Regional Music and Drama Theatre named after Yuriy Drohobych. Since 2003 - costume designer of the Cherkasy Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after Taras Shevchenko.

She has created costumes for more than 100 performances in 17 theatres in Ukraine. Works in the field of graphics and stage costume. She is the author of costumes for dance and choral groups and performers.
