In 2003, he became one of the first participants of the scholarship programme of the Minister of Culture of Poland ‘GaudePolonia’, PWST Krakow.
Teaching experience:
2010–2013 — Assistant Trainee at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
2013–2025 — Senior Lecturer at the Department of Directing and Acting at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
2023–2025 — Senior Lecturer at the Lyudmila Khorolets Department of Directing at the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management.
Since 2025 — Lecturer at the Department of Scenography and Multimedia at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
Since 1998, he has been working in Ukrainian theatres. Since 2005, he has been the chief artist and production designer of the Kyiv Academic Theatre for Young Audience on Lypky. Performances for children and teenagers occupy a special place in Oleh Tatarynov's work. The artist opposes a simplistic approach to this genre. He emphasises that children's performances are no less significant than those for adults, as they address issues that appeal to the depths of every person's psychology, regardless of age. According to the artist, the line between the so-called ‘children's’ and ‘adult’ repertoires is arbitrary, because true theatrical art always appeals to universal values, experiences and meanings.
